Nor­man War­ren Moore

Nor­man Moore passed away at 97 years old. He was born and raised in San Fran­cisco and grad­u­ated from Mis­sion High School, where he met the love of his life Dolores Her­forth who be­came his de­voted wife of 64 years when she passed away in 2006.

Nor­man en­tered the US Army-In­fantry dur­ing WWII serv­ing his coun­try in Ger­many. Upon re­turn­ing home, he en­tered the San Fran­cisco Police De­part­ment serv­ing the City for 29 years, mostly in the South of Mar­ket neigh­bor­hood.

Nor­man was the youngest of 10 born to Ge­orge and Lil­lian Moore. He was pre­ceded in death by sis­ters Lily, Mar­garet, Mary Jane and baby Mary; brothers Ge­orge, Edward, Robert, William and Frank. He is sur­vived by his lov­ing daugh­ter and son Ju­dith Moore (Wayne Furr) and Gar­rett Moore (Lorene); grand­fa­ther to Me­gan Peter­son (Eric), Brian Moore (Michelle), Daniel Moore (Skye) and great-grand­fa­ther to Sean and Evan, Alexan­dria and Col­son, Ja­cob and Tyler. He will be missed by his many nieces and neph­ews.

Nor­man spent many of his young sum­mers camp­ing in Fort Bragg, Ca. with his fa­ther and brothers where he de­vel­oped a love of the out­doors. Later he hunted with his brothers and neph­ews in Covelo, Ca. where they built a fam­ily va­ca­tion home for all to en­joy.

Nor­man was a thought­ful gen­tle man and a Pa­triot who loved his coun­try.

Me­mo­rial ser­vices at Cy­press Lawn will be pri­vate to the im­me­di­ate fam­ily.
