Harry Kott passed away peace­fully on Satur­day morn­ing, Oc­to­ber 27, 2018 at the age of 97. On Jan­uary 10, 1921 Harry was born in his fam­ily home, in the small min­ing town of Nema­colin in South­west­ern Penn­syl­va­nia. He was the youngest of 5 chil­dren; Paul, Alex, Anna, and Sophia, his sib­lings who pre­cede him in death.

His par­ents Naum and Olga raised him to be an out­stand­ing young man. Grow­ing up and leav­ing Nema­colin to join the Army Air Force, he bravely served his coun­try in WW II pri­mar­ily as an ae­rial pho­tog­ra­pher.

Once out of the ser­vice, he moved to Santa Bar­bara and en­rolled in Brooks In­sti­tute of Pho­tog­ra­phy. Upon grad­u­a­tion he moved north to San Fran­cisco where he worked at Fort Ma­son. He soon met the love of his life, Geral­dine. He then se­cured a job in the print­ing plant of the Oak­land Army Base as a pho­tolithog­ra­pher.

Gerry and Harry were mar­ried in 1950, at old St. Mary’s Cathe­dral in San Fran­cisco. Af­ter 3 years, mov­ing south to Burlingame, they bought a home to raise 3 chil­dren. He was a de­voted hus­band and fa­ther who truly loved his home, es­pe­cially when tin­ker­ing, or work­ing to make it a bet­ter place for his fam­ily. He would do any­thing for fam­ily or friends, and touched the hearts of all he met.

Af­ter re­tire­ment in 1987, he en­joyed so­cial­iz­ing with fam­ily and many new friends as a mem­ber of the Burlingame Se­nior Cit­i­zens Or­ga­ni­za­tion and the Siena Club.

He is sur­vived by his wife Geral­dine; chil­dren Karen, Mary Beth and Mark, as well as a niece and sev­eral neph­ews.

A pri­vate fam­ily ser­vice will be held on Mon­day, Novem­ber 5, 2018.

In lieu of flow­ers, the fam­ily re­quests do­na­tions to St. Cather­ine of Siena Catholic Church, 1310 Bayswa­ter Ave., Burlingame, CA 94010.
