Man found slain in Santa Rosa

A man was killed early Mon­day in a street stab­bing in down­town Santa Rosa, po­lice said.

Of­fi­cers were called to the scene on the 400 block of Ri­ley Street, be­tween Fifth and Seventh streets, just be­fore 1 a.m. af­ter some­one re­ported a man down in front of a Sonoma County Pub­lic Health Di­vi­sion of­fice. Paramedics pro­nounced him dead at the scene.

The man, who had yet to be iden­ti­fied, was be­lieved to be home­less, of­fi­cials said.
