Su­san Grace Wood­side, age 69, of Sonoma, Cal­i­for­nia died Septem­ber 5, 2017 at Nazareth Clas­sic Care Fa­cil­ity, Napa, Cal­i­for­nia.

Su­san was born on Septem­ber 30, 1948, in San Fran­cisco, the daugh­ter of Stan­ley Ge­orge and Ce­celia Agnes An­der­son. She was raised in San Fran­cisco and grad­u­ated from Lin­coln High School. She fur­thered her ed­u­ca­tion at San Fran­cisco City Col­lege study­ing ho­tel and restau­rant man­age­ment. She mar­ried Wayne (Woody) Harold Wood­side in 1977. He pre­ceded her in death in March of 2016. She worked in the restau­rant and hospitality in­dus­try through­out her ca­reer fin­ish­ing with 15 years work­ing at the Au Re­lais Restau­rant in Sonoma, where here out­go­ing per­son­al­ity made her a pop­u­lar fig­ure, re­tir­ing in 1989. Dur­ing her re­tire­ment she trav­eled ex­ten­sively with Woody, en­joyed ski­ing, and car­ing for her beloved an­i­mals in­clud­ing her horse, Baron, who she had and rode for over 20 years.

Su­san’s mem­ory is hon­ored by her daugh­ter, Sta­cie De Patta, Cousins He­len Mor­gan Bohl, Robert Crane, and many other fam­ily mem­bers and friends in­clud­ing Dorothie Mars­den and Ger­ald Pipho and their fam­ily of Sonoma.

There will be a pri­vate fam­ily dis­tri­bu­tion of Su­san and Woody’s ashes at a later date. Memo­ri­als are to be di­rected Hospice or Pets Life­line of Sonoma, Cal­i­for­nia.
