El­iz­a­beth “Betty” Marie Angevine

Betty passed away in Liver­more on New Year’s Day af­ter a brave bat­tle with can­cer.

Born in New York City to Arthur and Nona Angevine. She grew up in Penn­syl­va­nia, Washington State and Vir­ginia. She grad­u­ated high school from St. Mary’s Academy in Alexan­dria, VA in 1955. She at­tended Holy Cross Hos­pi­tal School of Nurs­ing in Salt Lake City, UT and re­ceived her diploma in 1959.

Betty moved to San Fran­cisco in 1962 and was a head nurse at St. Mary’s Hos­pi­tal. Later in her ca­reer she was a hospice nurse for Hospice by the Bay. Af­ter re­tir­ing, she helped lobby for af­ford­able hous­ing for the el­derly in San Fran­cisco.

She is sur­vived by her sis­ter Lo­raine A. Swaim of San Ra­mon, nephew Chris Swaim of Liver­more, niece Mary A. Hick­mott of Tracy, grand nieces and neph­ews Ryan, Nikki, An­drew, and Me­gan. She will be greatly missed by her dear friend and com­pan­ion Linda Forcier and her many other friends and col­leagues.

Her ashes will be buried at Holy Cross Ceme­tery in Colma. Grave­side ser­vices will be held on Jan­uary 20, 2018 at 2 p.m.
