Claude Duwayne Blakeslee

On De­cem­ber 28, 2017 the world lost a hon­est, kind, in­tel­li­gent man and a life-long teacher.

Claude Duwayne Blakeslee was born Fe­bru­ary 6, 1928 in Denver, Colorado to Theresa and Claude Henry. He is sur­vived by his lov­ing wife of 63 1/2 years, Bar­bara, his chil­dren Daryl, Steven and Clau­dia, his grand­chil­dren Jonathan and Jes­sica, and his nephew David.

When he was 15 he moved from Denver to Rich­mond, CA with his Mother and brother Rod. He grad­u­ated vale­dic­to­rian from El Cer­rito HS. He joined the Air Force in 1946 and was sta­tioned in Panama as a pho­tog­ra­pher. He grad­u­ated from SF State with a de­gree in Math­e­mat­ics and teach­ing cre­den­tial. He taught at Ben­jamin Franklin Jr. High in San Fran­cisco for 6 years, in­clud­ing Lux Labs and then at Mills HS in Mill­brae where he taught both math and elec­tron­ics, un­til he re­tired in 1987. He loved teach­ing and was al­ways very proud of all his stu­dents.

Claude was an am­a­teur li­censed ham ra­dio op­er­a­tor for over 50 years - WB6GHZ. He spent many happy hours talk­ing to other hams lo­cally and around the world. He was a mem­ber of SIRS and en­joyed their monthly meet­ings and lunches. He looked for­ward to at­tend­ing Senior Fo­cus with his friends.
