Dick passed away on the evening of De­cem­ber 31, 2017 with his de­voted wife and fam­ily mem­bers by his side. He was born Oc­to­ber 7, 1930 in Van­der­grift, Penn­syl­va­nia to Wil­liam and Enes Ce­sarin. He grew up in Red­wood City. He at­tended Se­quoia High School where he met the love of his life, Donna Lee Plum­ley. He was an All-Star ath­lete in football, bas­ket­ball, and base­ball where he earned Ath­lete of the Year ob­tain­ing eleven cham­pi­onship stripes.

Dick and Donna raised their three chil­dren, Craig, Ch­eryl, and Brett in Menlo Park. They all at­tended Na­tiv­ity School where Dick was Ath­letic Di­rec­tor for 10 years. He served in the Menlo Park Fire Dis­trict for 35 years where he ul­ti­mately re­tired as As­sis­tant Chief. He was a sec­ond gen­er­a­tion mem­ber of the Ital­ian-Amer­i­can Club of Menlo Park and a life­time mem­ber of the Palo Alto Elks Club. Af­ter re­tire­ment Dick and Donna moved to San Car­los en­joy­ing travel, fam­ily gath­er­ings and golf. Dick touched many lives as an ath­lete, coach, fire­fighter and “pa­tri­arch” of the Ce­sarin fam­ily.

Dick is sur­vived by his lov­ing wife of 67 years, Donna and his younger brother Sev­erino “Reno” Ce­sarin and Dick and Donna’s sons Craig (Sheila), Brett, and daugh­ter Ch­eryl (Dave), along with be­ing a de­voted “Pap-Pap” to his 6 grand­chil­dren Amy, Justin, Marissa, Danielle, Paige, Scott and 5 great­grand­chil­dren. A Cel­e­bra­tion of Life will be held at The Church of the Na­tiv­ity 210 Oak Grove Ave, Menlo Park Satur­day Jan­uary 20, 2018 at 1:00pm.
