Police: Girl, 5, taken in Belen found safe

BELEN — Police in Belen said a 5-year-old girl who was taken by her mother in a custodial interference situation has been found safe.

They said 36-year-old Alicia Trejo allegedly broke into the residence of the child’s grandmother Wednesday night, abducted the girl and ran away.

Police said Trejo has no legal custodial rights to Marissa Bibiano and an Amber Alert was issued.

Belen police say the girl was found Thursday afternoon, but no details were released.

Police said Trejo was arrested without incident. They didn’t say what charges she may be facing.
