Querecuto’s sac fly leads Sacramento to 1-0 win over Isotopes

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Juniel Querecuto hit a sacrifice fly in the second inning, driving in Mac Williamson with the go-ahead run, as the Sacramento River Cats topped the Albuquerqu­e Isotopes 1-0 on Sunday.

Williamson scored after he led off the inning with a double and advanced to third on a single by Justin Ruggiano.

Michael Roth struck Anthony Bemboom out with runners on first and third to end the game for his first save of the season. Williamson doubled and singled twice in the win. Sacramento starter Joan Gregorio (4-4) picked up the win after allowing four hits over five scoreless innings. Opposing starter Tyler Anderson (0-1) took the tough loss in the Pacific Coast League game after giving up one run and five hits over five innings.

The Isotopes were held scoreless for the third time this season, while the River Cats’ staff recorded their second shutout of the year.
