A story on Page A-1 of the July 25, 2017, edition of The New Mexican, about the case of Joel Ira, who is serving 91 years for repeatedly raping his stepsister when he was 14, incorrectl­y reported that Marsha Levick represente­d the state in oral arguments before the State Supreme Court. Assistant Attorney General Laurie Blevins argued on behalf of the state. Levick is a Juvenile Law Center attorney who authored an amicus brief in the case.

The New Mexican will correct factual errors in its news stories. Errors should be brought to the attention of the city editor at 986-3035.
