NIGE­RIAN DRUM­MER AKEEM AYANNIYI: Join the Main Li­brary at 1:30 p.m. for a demon­stra­tion of the tra­di­tional talk­ing drum and the ashiko, djembe and bata drums. Ex­pe­ri­ence tra­di­tional Yoruba sto­ries, rit­u­als and mythol­ogy through drum­ming, sto­ry­telling and dance. The free event is spon­sored by South­west Roots Mu­sic. MU­SEUM HILL COM­MU­NITY DAY: The Mu­seum Hill Part­ners — which in­clude the In­ter­na­tional Folk Art Al­liance, Mu­seum of In­dian Arts & Cul­ture, Mu­seum of In­ter­na­tional Folk Art, Mu­seum of Span­ish Colo­nial Art, the Na­tional Park Ser­vice, the Santa Fe Botan­i­cal Gar­den and the Wheel­wright Mu­seum of the Amer­i­can In­dian — join forces for Com­mu­nity Day. Ad­mis­sion to all mu­se­ums and the Botan­i­cal Gar­den will be free. The event, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., com­mem­o­rates the 15th an­niver­sary of the Mu­seum of Span­ish Colo­nial Art, the 30th an­niver­sary of the Mu­seum of In­dian Arts & Cul­ture and the Santa Fe Botan­i­cal Gar­den, and the 80th an­niver­sary of the Wheel­wright Mu­seum of the Amer­i­can In­dian. Ac­tiv­i­ties in­clude a matanza, Na­tive dances, sto­ry­telling, live mu­sic and artist demon­stra­tions.
