CITIZEN OF YEAR
Rod has lived in Spr ingville his entire life. His Parent’s purchased a business on Main Street in 1956 and was family owned for 49 years. Rod worked at this Pharmacy during his teenage years and this is where his love for Springville grew. Rod commuted to Salt Lake City for over 25 years while working for ZCMI where he was a buyer and later a Divisional Merchandise Manager in the corporate off ices. The decis io n to commute was ma d e for two reasons. One so his chi ldren would k now the i r g randparent s; and two, so they would be raised in Spr ingville.
Rod is mar ried to Christine Child Oldroyd and they have four children and six and grandchildren. All live in Spr ingvil le except his son and family who are in California.
Rod has always had an interest in civic affai rs. He has served on the City Council. He has been on several Art City Days commit tees and the General Chairman for two years. He has been a former member of the Springville Kiwanis Club and the Spr ingville Playhouse. He had served on both of their boards. He was most recently on the Nebo Board of Education and served as Vice President of that board. He works with Spr ingville City as the Administ rat ive Services Manager since 2008.

Rod loves to do anything with his family, t ravel to St, George, go golf ing a few times a year and be with the grandchildren.
He i s employed at Spr ingvi l le City Corporat ion, where he is the Administ rative Services Manager. He enjoys those who he works with and the residents he works for. He has a great love for Springville City and the people who live there.
