Serve Daily - - CITIZEN OF YEAR - By J.P. Hughes

This project at 143 South Main in Spanish Fork originated out of love and respect for our history in this communit y for four generations.

We have been able to move three original log cabins f rom the hand work of our set tling pioneer families, an or iginal grainy back to the original site, a pump house and a windmill.

Dur ing t he “24th” celebrat ion of this cultural her itage we have coordinated this site for the “Quilt Show, and a black- smith with self tour s through the moments of the pa s t . T he v isu a l expe r ienc e of this visit is authent ic, simple and classic.

Our recent addition is a “Display Car riage House.” This will be the home of an original sheep wagon, Doctor’s buggy, Welsh car t, Ser i “City Drug Soda Fountain,” Pulver Pr int shop, with visual areas of an old school room, doctor’s off ice and harnesses of the agricultural equine inf luence of the day.

The highl ight of this place and location is for the World War ll collection of Ralph Andrus. One entire wall of protective cases will be the home of uniforms, medals and memor ies of our Spanish Fork Service Veteran’s cont r ibutions for our f reedom.

We pla n a d ed i c a t ion of this building and display this year hopefully by Ralph.

The dedicat ion of the Cobbler Shop by the original Shepherd Shoe Shop voice and spi r it was a very tender moment in my life.

Ou r p l a n s a r e t o ma ke this ent i re site a 501- C3 place of reverence, at tendance, romance, and endurance.

We plan to expand the effor t for a doll museum and place of dreams for lit tle girls, a photographic gallery, ar t studio, a Native Amer ican Lodge and a Pioneer Dugout.

We are grateful for the interest of this project and the kindness of Chris Baird to “Serve Daily.”
