Amer­i­can Hero din­ner to raise funds for vet­er­ans

The name Mar­cus Lat­trell has be­come fa­mil­iar across the land. The Navy Cross re­cip­i­ent for his hero­ism in Afghanistan dur­ing a bat­tle with the Tal­ban that took the lives of his com­plete Navy Seal Team and left him the lone sur­vivor, now memo­ri­al­ized with a movie and a best­selling book by the same name.

Lat­trell will be in Maple­ton May 17th at a gala din­ner and fundraiser at the res­i­dence of Tom Mower. The celebrity packed event will fea­ture Lat­trell, Gov­er­nor Her­bert, Se­na­tor Hatch and oth­ers gath­ered to­gether to pay their re­spects to those who wear our na­tions uni­forms into bat­tle and thank them for the great sac­ri­fices they and their fam­i­lies have paid.

“Pro­ceeds from this event will ben­e­fit vet­er­ans through­out the state”, states Master Gun­nery Sergeant Alan Trues­dale, founder of Sports­men for War­riors, a lo­cal non­profit or­ga­ni­za­tion whose mis­sion is to pro­vide op­por­tu­nity and as­sis­tance for Utah’s vet­er­ans. “For us to be in­volved in this great ef­fort to as­sist our wounded war­riors is ex­tremely grat­i­fy­ing”.
