The Amer­i­can Le­gion Posts from Payson, Span­ish Fork, and Springville met at the Veteran’s Home in Payson on Wed­nes­day, Septem­ber 10th, hosted by Payson Post #48. It was a well at­tended by about 60 mem­bers, wives, and aux­il­iary mem­bers and a num­ber of res­i­dents of the Vet­er­ans Home.

Gary Her­bert, Post Com­man­der of Payson, in­tro­duced the pro­gram. The speaker was Keela Goudy of San­taquin. She is the daugh­ter of “Rosie the Riv­eter” of WW II his­tory. She read a num­ber of in­ci­dents from her mother’s jour­nals, who worked in the San Francisco Ship Yards, build­ing ships and do­ing var­i­ous work there. She then sang, “God Bless Amer­ica”.

Dis­trict #4 Com­man­der George Van de Wa­ter con­ducted the in­stal­la­tion of Fred Hurst, new Com­man­der of the Springville Post #28 and Sid Car­don as new 1st Vice Com­man­der of Span­ish Fork Post #68.

The three posts will have their next com­bined meet­ing hosted by Span­ish Fork Post in Jan­uary.
