Kids: Wa­ter is good for you

Hi kids, this is Cow­boy Ted with the healthy tip of the day for kids. Today’s topic is how to prop­erly hy­drate your body with lots of wa­ter. Did you know that the in­side of your body is made up mostly of wa­ter in the form of flu­ids or liq­uids?

That’s right – our body is made up of a lot of wa­ter, which means we need to keep adding wa­ter to our body to make it work right. Many kids are de­hy­drated a good por­tion of the day and that means our body isn’t work­ing as well as it could be.

We need to drink six to eight cups of wa­ter each day to keep our body work­ing well. We need even more wa­ter if we are ex­er­cis­ing or work­ing out­side in the heat.

We need to add wa­ter to make our heart, kid­neys, mus­cles and even our brain work prop­erly – so make sure you drink wa­ter ev­ery day.
