The Springville- Maple­ton Amer­i­can Le­gion held its monthly meet­ing on Feb. 11 at the Springville Se­nior Cen­ter. The guest speaker was Frank Weight, who talked about the ca­su­al­ties of Amer­ica’s wars. He talked about build­ing a vet­er­ans mon­u­ment in the city park to honor all Springville vet­er­ans who lost their lives. He told about rais­ing money and fi nd­ing all vet­er­ans names who were killed in ac­tion. Re­fresh­ments were served.

On March 11, the meet­ing will be the ob­ser­vance of the Amer­i­can Le­gion’s birth­day (or­ga­nized in 1919). It will be “an all help” potluck din­ner. Bring your own dishes. The meet­ing will start at 7 p.m. in the Springville Se­nior Cen­ter. There will be a pro­gram. All le­gion and le­gion aux­il­iary mem­bers are in­vited to at­tend.
