State park of­fers year-round fun in Utah County’s backyard

Bring the fam­ily to Wasatch Moun­tain State Park for year-round adventure. The win­ter months fea­ture a host of events and ac­tiv­i­ties at Sol­dier Hol­low. Sol­dier Hol­low was the site of the Nordic events dur­ing the 2002 Win­ter Olympics. Cross coun­try ski­ing is fan­tas­tic at Sol­dier Hol­low. Groomed trails, rental equip­ment and pro­fes­sional in­struc­tion are avail­able.

The site fea­tures a snow tub­ing hill with 1,200-foot slid­ing lanes for day or night fam­ily tub­ing with a tow lift and mu­sic. Snow­shoing is an­other popular win­ter ac­tiv­ity and rentals are avail­able.

Mid­way Ice Rink is nearby and fea­tures the only open-air Olympic-sized ice skat­ing rink in Utah. Rentals are avail­able.

Af­ter the snow thaws, golfers will en­joy the four public 18-hole golf cour­ses. Fam­i­lies can also camp, hike, fish and ride bikes at the park.

There are fam­ily friendly at­trac­tions nearby. Visit the crater and swim or scuba in the hot springs at the Homestead Re­sort. How about a fam­ily trip on the He­ber Creeper Rail­road?
