Springville fundraiser to help save chil­dren

Time to Res­cue, a com­mu­nity-wide fundrais­ing event, will be held Satur­day, May 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.in the park­ing lot of Leg­ends Mo­tor­cy­cles at 1715 W. 500 South, Springville. All pro­ceeds from the event will be do­nated to Op­er­a­tion Un­der­ground Rail­road, a Utah-based non­profit that res­cues chil­dren from hu­man traf­fick­ing. See their web­site at our­res­cue.org The event will in­clude a gi­ant yard sale, a bake sale, a bar­beque, free live en­ter­tain­ment per­formed by lo­cal en­ter­tain­ers, a si­lent auc­tion and chil­dren’s ac­tiv­i­ties.

This event has been or­ga­nized by the Kolob 9th Ward Re­lief So­ci­ety in Springville with as­sis­tance from many or­ga­ni­za­tions, busi­nesses, clubs and in­di­vid­u­als in the com­mu­nity. The Utah County Sher­iff’s Of­fice will be pre­sent­ing the RADkids pro­gram and mak­ing finger­print cards for chil­dren who at­tend.

The Springville City Recre­ation Depart­ment is pro­vid­ing a dance floor and Springville City will in­clude this event on the “City Source Cal­en­dar” in May. Lo­cal busi­nesses who have do­nated goods or ser­vices in­clude Leg­ends Vin­tage Mo­tor­cy­cles, PartyLand, Copy Plus Print­ing, Costco, Magelby’s Restau­rant, Sprin­kler Sup­ply Co., Bib­bity Bob­bity Bal­loons, Re­li­gious Fine Wood Art, Big O Tire, Noble Sports, Maple Moun­tain Fire­place, Beau­ti­fully Dunn Photography and Print Mark.
