Daugh­ters of Utah Pi­o­neers plan con­ven­tion

The Springville/Maple­ton Com­pany of the Daugh­ters of the Utah Pi­o­neers is host­ing its Two-Com­pany Dis­trict Con­ven­tion with the Provo Com­pany on Satur­day, May 21. This is a shared yearly event where the two groups meet to­gether and re­ceive in­struc­tion and en­joy fel­low­ship with one an­other. This year, the event will be held in Springville at the LDS Chapel at 1785 E. 400 South. The book sale will start at 8:30 am. There will also be pi­o­neer-re­lated items for sale that are of in­ter­est to all ages. At 9:15 a.m., camp and com­pany of­fi­cers will meet to­gether for dis­cus­sions, learn­ing and an­swer­ing ques­tions. The gen­eral meet­ing be­gins at 10:30 a.m. All mem­bers and those in­ter­ested in learn­ing more about DUP are wel­comed and urged to at­tend. Spe­cial guest Jeanie Bower­bank, who is the In­ter­na­tional So­ci­ety of the DUP’s out­reach board di­rec­tor, will be a speaker. Noreen Petersen, pres­i­dent of the Provo Com­pany, and Joy Pinck­ney, pres­i­dent of the Springville-Maple­ton Com­pany, will each present in­for­ma­tion about their group. Re­fresh­ments will be served and a pi­o­neer heir­loom ta­ble will be on dis­play.
