DUP Cot­ton­wood Camp mem­bers rec­og­nized for their long­time ser­vice

Ilene Coff­man of the Daugh­ters of the Utah Pi­o­neers Springville/Maple­ton Com­pany was rec­og­nized at the Sept. 1 Ju­bilee as hav­ing been a mem­ber of the or­ga­ni­za­tion for 50 years. She has re­ceived her 50-year pin and is as­so­ci­ated with the Cot­ton­wood Camp in that com­pany.

Betty Di­a­mond, also from Camp Cot­ton­wood, has been an ac­tive mem­ber for 43 years. They both have served faith­fully in the com­pany and their camp in nu­mer­ous lead­er­ship po­si­tions.

Camp Cot­ton­wood also has new of­fi­cers for the com­ing 2016-2018 term. They are: Cap­tain, Tona Dyer Cox; Vice Cap­tains, Kathy Birch and Corey Howard; Sec­re­tary, Donna Robert­son; Trea­surer and His­to­rian, Elma Evans; Reg­is­trar, Kathy Birch; Chap­lain, Eva­lyn Fletcher; Par­lia­men­tar­ian, Dora Sorensen; Mu­sic, Bon­nie Corry; and Pub­lic Re­la­tions, Judy El­sner.

The camp meets at 55 N. Main, Springville, on the sec­ond Thurs­day of the month.

This month’s les­son will be “Pioneer Mu­seum School Room” and the “De­seret Al­pha­bet” to be given by Dora Sorensen. The meet­ing starts at 1 p.m. All are in­vited to at­tend.

The theme of DUP is “We are Daugh­ters of the Fu­ture - Keep­ers of the Past” and “Our Her­itage Binds Us To­gether.”
