Shae Oberg Walker

Shae Oberg Walker passed away March 28, 2017, af­ter a coura­geous bat­tle with can­cer. Shae was born May 11, 1961, to Robert and Wil­letta Kot­ter Oberg. She was raised in Genola and at­tended school in Payson, grad­u­at­ing from Payson High School and LDS Sem­i­nary. Dur­ing high school, she was a mem­ber of the Drill Team and served as Drill Mis­tress. Fol­low­ing high school, she at­tend Snow Col­lege. She mar­ried Bart Walker, her high school sweet­heart, on June 21, 1980, in the Provo LDS Tem­ple. To­gether they raised five chil­dren and en­joyed sup­port­ing them in all of their ac­tiv­i­ties.

Shae was an ac­tive mem­ber of The Church of Je­sus Christ of Lat­ter-day Saints, serv­ing in many stake and ward call­ings in­clud­ing stake Pri­mary and Young Women pres­i­den­cies. She worked as a com­puter tech­ni­cian at Park View Ele­men­tary School for 25 years, touch­ing the lives of many chil­dren. Through her years of teach­ing, she was a friend to every­one and strived to make every­one feel im­por­tant, know­ing each child by name. This year, Shae was awarded the Clas­si­fied Em­ployee of the Year at Park View Ele­men­tary.

She en­joyed spend­ing time with her fam­ily, go­ing on fam­ily va­ca­tions (es­pe­cially to St. Ge­orge) and go­ing on mo­tor­cy­cle rides with her hus­band. She also spent count­less hours work­ing in her yard. Shae’s grand­chil­dren were the light of her life and she en­joyed ev­ery minute she had with them.

Shae is sur­vived by her lov­ing hus­band and five chil­dren: Am­ber­lee (Scott) Wood­land, We­ston (Marcea) Walker, Lacey (Jay) Brod­er­ick, Jes­sica (Robert) Root and Bray­den (Che­lise) Walker; nine grand­chil­dren: Abby, Sadie, Emily, Carter, Car­son, Brea, McKenna, Madi­son and Ma­son; her fa­ther, Robert Oberg; broth­ers Craig, Blain, Keven and Daren Oberg; and her in-laws, Jack and He­len Walker. She was pro­ceeded in death by her mother Wil­letta Kot­ter Oberg, sis­ter Kanda Oberg and grand­daugh­ter Shaelee Wood­land.
