DUP names new of­fi­cers

The Springville/Maple­ton Com­pany of the Daugh­ters of Utah Pi­o­neers has elected new lead­er­ship for the 2017- 2019 years.

Pa­tri­cia Maxey is the new pres­i­dent. She suc­ceeds Joy Pinck­ney who has served faith­fully for the last two years. Serv­ing on the board with the new pres­i­dent is 1st Vice Pres­i­dent Cindy Chris­tensen, 2nd Vice Pres­i­dent Lau­rie Whit­ing; Sec­re­tary Carol Cur­tis; Trea­surer Sue Wis­combe; Regis­trar Su­san Bartholomew; His­to­rian and Mark­ers Heather Hill; Chap­lain Trinka Ev­jen; Par­lia­men­tar­ian Elma Evans; Cho­ris­ter Mau­reen Clark; Ac­com­pa­nist Mar­i­lyn Chris­tensen; Out­reach Di­rec­tor Amy East­mond; Pub­lic Re­la­tions/Legacy Kathy Birch; and Scrap­book/Pho­tos Judy El­sner.

On June 10, the com­pany lead­ers will be at­tend­ing the In­ter­na­tional DUP An­nual Sem­i­nar at the Davis Con­fer­ence Cen­ter in Lay­ton.

The Springville Pi­o­neer Mu­seum spon­sored by the DUP will be open dur­ing Art City Days. It is lo­cated at 175 S. Main. The mu­seum is open on Wed­nes­days, Fri­days and Satur­days from 1 to 4 p.m. School, Scout, church, com­mu­nity and fam­ily groups and re­searchers are al­ways wel­come. Fam­ily re­union at­ten­dees are also en­cour­aged to make the mu­seum a part of their cel­e­bra­tion. Call the mu­seum at 801-491- 2076 to make an ap­point­ment to visit at times other than sched­uled hours. There is never any charge for ad­mis­sion.
