Order Up a Trainer From Room Service
Personal training on demand is the new thing
Call it travel insurance for your workout: More and more hotels—like the US Grant Hotel in San Diego, the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, W Hotels nationwide, and select Kimpton hotels—are giving guests the option to summon trainers or yogis for one-on-one sessions. “The concept of in-room personal training was a novelty five years ago, but now people embrace the idea of working out outside the walls of a hotel gym,” says Vanessa Martin, the founder of Strength in Numbers, which links trainers to hotels (you book through the concierge). Forgot your gear? The new site Routinely.co delivers a full kit (sneaks too!) for a $10 day rental to hotels in New York City and, soon, San Francisco. All that, and no line for your postworkout shower.
