‘Agenda 2, Masters of Deceipt’

Filmmaker Curtis Bowers is bringing his latest 2015 documentar­y, “Agenda 2, Masters of Deceipt,” to the Northwest Arkansas area. It will be shown at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 8 at First Christian Church, located at 1405 W. Jefferson Street in Siloam Springs. Bowers will also be speaking and holding a Q&A session. There is no admission fee.

Health Fair

Free adult health screenings and a kids health fair will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18 at the Total Life Community Center located at 13710 S. Arkansas Highway 59 in Siloam Springs. The event will include free vision, dental and medical screenings for adults, and games, bounce houses and fun activities for kids.

Chalk It Up

Siloam Springs Parks and Recreation will be hosting the annual Chalk It Up event from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 17, at Bob Henry Park. The event is for children of all ages who are interested in art. Activities planned include sidewalk chalk, card making, modeling clay, face painting and making bead jewelry. A Caricaturi­st will be at the event to draw your picture.

Lunch and Learn

Siloam Springs Parks and Recreation is partnering with Bridges to Wellness and The Garden in Siloam Springs to host a “Lunch and Learn” event for seniors from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 19, at The Garden in Siloam Springs, located at 617 North Mt. Olive Street. This event is a kick-off session for the Bridges to Wellness Cooking Matters series. Door prizes will be awarded and lunch will be served. Writers to hear Ted Song

The Siloam Springs Writers Guild will meet at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1, at First Baptist Church, 2000 W. Dawn Hill Road. John Brown University professor, Dr. Ted Song, will speak on “Cultural Awareness in Writing.” September prose assignment­s on the “Beauty of Nature” are to be emailed to sswgsisp@ gmail.com between Sept. 1-5. Poetry assignment­s on Beauty of Nature are to be emailed between Aug. 20 and Sept. 1 to be included in the Poem of the Year contest or postmarked by Aug. 29. Class of 1976 reunion

Siloam Springs High School class of 1976 is planning its 40th reunion. An activity, to be announced, will be held on Sept. 30, followed by a reunion at 6 p.m. Oct. 1 at Inn at the Springs. American Legion pancake breakfast and auction

American Legion Post 29 and Auxiliary Unit will hold its 2016 Family Fun Fest Pancake Breakfast on Sept. 24. During the breakfast there will be a silent auction of items donated by local merchants. Proceeds from the event will be used for the Boys and Girls State program, Oratorical Contest, Flag Education and other Americanis­m programs. Donations of auction items are being accepted. Yoga classes

Bridges to Wellness and the Siloam Springs Parks and Recreation Department are sponsoring Yoga classes. Classes will be 5:30-6:30 p.m. Monday nights at the Arvest Community Room across the street from 28 Springs. The cost for classes is $3.
