March tax receipts up
The April issue of City & Town Magazine incorrectly reported the sales tax receipts for March 2017, comparing the March 2017 tax receipts to February 2016 receipts, according to a correction printed in the May issue of the magazine.
As a result, the original report showed that both Siloam Springs’ city and county sales taxes were down, when in fact city sales receipts were up $92,248 to $592,473, and county sales tax receipts were up $33,253 to $238,754.
Because of the mistake, the sales tax receipts for other local cities also appeared to be down when in many cases they were actually up. To see correct comparison numbers for March for other local cities, visit www.arml.org/services/ publications and click on the April City & Town issue.
