Col­cord loses at home to Afton

COL­CORD, Okla. — The Col­cord (Okla.) Hor­nets got down early against Ok­la­homa Class A semi­fi­nal­ist Afton (Okla.) on Fri­day and couldn’t catch up to the Ea­gles in a 5824 loss.

Afton led 22-0 af­ter the first quar­ter, and the score re­mained 22-0 at half­time.

Afton punched in an­other score to go up 28-0 be­fore Col­cord was able to score its first points of the night to pull within 28-6 on a touch­down pass from Spencer Earp to Matthew Far­ris.

Earp rushed for a touch­down, re­turned a kick­off for a touch­down and scored an­other on a fum­ble re­cov­ery.

The Hor­nets (1-1) re­turn to ac­tion at Westville on Fri­day.

The War­riors (0-1) re­turn to ac­tion this Fri­day at home against Welch, which de­feated Watts 42-14.
