Cham­ber to give Tor­res Civic Lead­er­ship Award

Randy Tor­res will be the 2017 re­cip­i­ent of the Out­stand­ing Civic Lead­er­ship award, the Cham­ber of Com­merce an­nounced Fri­day.

The award will be pre­sented at the an­nual Out­stand­ing Civic Lead­er­ship Event, hosted by the Cham­ber, on Sept. 21 at the Cy­press Barn on East Ken­wood Street.

The Out­stand­ing Civic Lead­er­ship award rec­og­nizes a lo­cal ci­ti­zen who has gone above and be­yond ex­pec­ta­tions to pro­mote the com­mu­nity of Siloam Springs. Past re­cip­i­ents have started suc­cess­ful busi­nesses, done ex­ten­sive vol­un­teer work, worked be­hind the scenes with­out recog­ni­tion, served on lo­cal, re­gional, or state boards or com­mis­sions, been in­volved in Cham­ber of Com­merce com­mit­tee or board ser­vice, and are gen­er­ally sup­port­ers of all things Siloam Springs.

Tor­res is an em­ployee of DaySpring Cards, in Hu­man Re­la­tions, and is a former Chair­man of the Board of the Cham­ber of Com­merce. His many ac­com­plish­ments and com­mu­nity con­nec­tions will be “roasted and toasted” dur­ing the ca­sual event, which be­gins at 6 p.m. with a catered meal from Rib Crib.

The pre­sent­ing spon­sor for the event is DaySpring Cards; gold spon­sors are Chero­kee Casino and Ho­tel, Cobb-Vantress, Grand Sav­ings Bank, the Her­aldLeader, Rib Crib, and Simmons Foods.
