Junior high volleyball swept at Southwest

SPRINGDALE — The Siloam Springs ninth-grade volleyball team dropped 2-0 loss at Springdale Southwest.

The Lady Panthers lost the first match 25-11 and then dropped the second 25-10.

Over the weekend, the ninth-graders played four matches in the Alma Tournament. The Lady Panthers split three matches, winning on points in two of them, before losing their final match of the day.

Siloam Springs split 1-1 matches with Van Buren (25-10, 18-25), Bentonvill­e (25-16, 20-25) and Hackett (25-21, 18-25) before losing 2-0 to Rogers 25-23, 25-18.

Eighth grade

The Siloam Springs eighth-graders also lost 2-0 at Southwest on Monday.

Southwest won the first set 25-23 before taking the second set 26-24.

Seventh grade

The Siloam Springs seventh-grade team picked up a 2-1 victory at Springdale Tyson on Monday. Scores of the first two sets were not available, but the Lady Panthers won the third and deciding set 15-13.

Up next

The eighth- and ninthgrade teams were back in action on Tuesday against Springdale Lakeside. Results were not available at presstime. Both teams return to action on Monday at Rogers Heritage as the freshmen play Heritage and the eighth-graders play Rogers Oakdale. The seventh-graders host Farmington on Wednesday.
