Roth leads JBU women in fi­nal cross coun­try meet

SHAWNEE, Okla. — Ju­nior Rea­gan Roth led the John Brown Univer­sity women’s cross coun­try team for the first time this sea­son, but the Golden Ea­gles could only cap­ture sixth place at the Sooner Ath­letic Con­fer­ence Cham­pi­onships, held Satur­day morn­ing at the Gor­don Cooper Tech­nol­ogy Cen­ter.

Roth’s time of 20 min­utes, 14.8 sec­onds landed her in 19th place over­all in the field, just four places shy of qual­i­fy­ing for the NAIA Na­tional Cham­pi­onships. Roth’s fin­ish was her best time this sea­son by 29 sec­onds.

Fresh­man Sarah Lar­son capped off a strong fresh­man cam­paign with a time of 21:14.8 to fin­ish in 28th place over­all. Ju­nior Kylie Tucker scored in all five meets this year, this time reg­is­ter­ing a time of 21:38.2, good enough for 32nd.

Just eight sec­onds later, ju­nior Carly Coney crossed the line in 34th place. In the fi­nal run of her col­le­giate ca­reer, Kait­lyn Col­lier scored and nabbed 36th place with a time of 22:06.7.
