Freshmen win benefit basketball games at Huntsville
HUNTSVILLE — The Siloam Springs ninth-grade basketball teams participated in Arkansas Activities Association benefit games on Thursday against Huntsville at Charles Berry Gymnasium.
The Lady Panthers defeated the Lady Eagles 47-23.
Jadyn Still led the Lady Panthers with 14 points, while Julia Jackson scored 12, Sydney Moorman nine, Mia Hevener seven, Madi Race and Jordan Rush each with two and Quincy Efurd one. The Panthers defeated the Eagles 32-30 with a late rally. Jackson Ford’s touch pass to a back cutting Breck Soderquist for the game-winner gave the Panthers the winning points. Max Perkins hit a 3-pointer just before that to tie the game.
Perkins led the Panthers with 11 points, while Ford had five, Nathan Lee and Soderquist four each. Solomon Hufford, Alex Crafton, Elijah Coffey and Camden Collins each scored two points.
Both teams open their season this week in the annual Allen Classic.
