Simple Grace caught up with Fox News anchor and former Miss America Gretchen Carlson to ask her our favorite question
During a typical day at a busy television station, Gretchen Carlson, Fox News Channel host of The Real Story with Gretchen Carlson, tackles a sea of stressful deadlines, harsh critics and tough topics. But when she’s feeling overwhelmed or anxious, Gretchen says she’s just a prayer away from regaining her calm confidence. “We all face fear every day and have insecurities,” Gretchen admits. “But my prayer life and my faith keep me grounded and give me the foundation to continue.”
Today, just before the cameras started rolling, Gretchen whispered the Lord’s Prayer, then read the two Bible verses that she always has attached to her day book: Isaiah 41:10, and Psalm 27:1. “I prayed, The Lord is my light and my salvation, so why would I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? It’s such a good pick-me-up,” she says. “It shows that we are all vulnerable and that even when we’re not feeling good about ourselves, we always have our faith to fall back on.” Here, Gretchen shares the prayer habits that give her courage every day.
“I’m one of the few national news anchors that speaks openly about my faith. I find it surprising that would somehow be deemed as
