Dear child, I understand your constant need to check your technological toys: In truth, your heart yearns to feel connection to others and seeks as much in what appears on the screen. But you’re right to be concerned when your gadgets end up eclipsing the true hearts that are in your presence at any given time. And

I would add to your concern, My concern that you remember to check in with

Me, even though I will never post a status update that appears on your screen.

Can you set aside a portion of each day reserved just for Me, and another portion that you commit to your family? During these times, you will need to close your computer, turn off your tablet, put your cell phone in its “do not disturb” mode. Your family will thank you and My voice will grow louder in your heart.

Can you turn off your gizmos for Me right now and set aside five minutes to just be with Me? If so, flip off the switches and sit comfortably. Send Me a bright spark of loving, joyful gratitude and feel the Holy Spirit lift your spirit. Now relax in love and joy without thinking or worrying or yearning. As you develop a taste for this divine peace, your phone’s hold on you will naturally ease.

“The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who gave a wedding feast for his son, and sent his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding feast, but they would not come.”
