“Dear Lord, I feel like I’m squandering the gift You gave me when you spared me from the blood infection that nearly took my life. My doctors said it was a miracle I survived, as did the friends and family who prayed for me daily. They celebrated my recovery in the assurance that You’d saved me to do amazing things. But more than a year later, I haven’t done much that’s amazing: I’m not able to travel beyond my local churches to speak about how You saved me, and I’ve already made those rounds. And though I spent months writing both an e-book and a blog about my experience, nobody read them. I’m back to living the life I had before, which only involves working and volunteering as much as I can. That doesn’t seem like serving a high enough purpose given all You’ve done for me. Please tell me what else I can do!”
