The beauty of hard knocks
A READER ASKS
“Dear Lord, I must confess that I am angry with You. Six months ago, our house burned down in a freak accident. My family was saved, but all our possessions were lost. I look around and see others who have not been nearly as devoted as I have been and who are thriving. It just feels so unfair. I miss the closeness I used to feel to You in prayer, but I am too angry to forgive.”
Wisdom of the Word
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. —Paul in a letter to the Romans, 8:18
We understand and yet…
We can go through trials so great, we can’t help but feel angry. This is especially true when we see those not as faithful not having to struggle so much. What can help?
