Simple Grace - - Mood Index -

Dear child, can you imagine a world in which all the light was concentrated in one single place? It would blind the eyes of those close to it and leave those far from it in the dark.

No, what you want is a world with light here and there; here and there so you can see and navigate through all your Father’s glorious creation.

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” —Jesus to the disciples, Matthew 5:14–16

If you imagine each soul as a lamp, you can see that it’s good and right for souls to stand in different places. Lit by the same fuel—the love of the Holy Spirit—each soul shines light in its own unique space. And that’s a beautiful, perfect thing as it results in the totality of your Father’s creation to shine brightly.

While it can feel threatening to your sense of your own choices when a soul you love chooses to stand in a slightly different place, it’s all for the good. When a loved one chooses to worship in a different way, it’s best to let them go with your blessing to light up a new space.

Come to Me now in prayer and in love so that the Holy Spirit may fill your lamp with the oil of My strength. There! You’re ready to shine all day.
