Simple Grace - - Mood Index -

Dear child, it’s easy to get so caught up in doing that you lose sight of being. It’s easy to get so committed to your purpose in life that you lose sight of the meaning in life. The culture you’re immersed in elevates worldly accomplishments above all other things, so it’s no wonder that you’re too stressed to be kind.

The solution:

Simply stop and ground yourself in

Me, in the right now.

Even as you hold this book, listen…what do you hear? Are the birds singing? Is your air conditioner humming? Look…what do you see? Is there sunlight playing on the floor? Can you catch a glimpse of blue sky? Feel what’s touching your skin. Smell what’s floating in the air. Just soak in what’s all around you right now as though your Father’s creation is a spa that exists only to delight your senses.

As you ground yourself in the right here, right now, draw up the love that you have in your heart for Me and envision sending it to Me on a beam of light. Feel your spirit lift as the Holy Spirit brings you My tender feelings for you. Allow yourself to bathe in this feeling: Let it wash over you, into you and around you, filling your heart to overflowing. Rest here for as long as you can as often as you can, and I promise you, your irritation with others will fall away like an unnecessary cloak.

“Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” —Jesus to the crowd,
