“Dear Lord, I’m so broke and behind in my bills that I found a wallet in the grocery store this weekend, and nearly didn’t return it. My conscience got the best of me and I took it to the customer desk, where the man who’d lost it was standing. He thanked me profusely, but I was so ashamed— he had no idea I was almost a thief! Please help me keep my financial anxiety from changing me in the wrong ways.”

Whoever trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like a green leaf. —Proverbs 11:28

We understand and yet…

Try as we might not to focus on money, anxiety sets in when cash runs short. It’s what keeps us fed and clothed. How can we not worry?
