P OW D E R MO U N TA I N

SKI - - RESORTS OF THE YEAR 2019 -

PW What’s close to a big city, gets more than 500 inches of snow per year, and boasts 8,400 skiable acres? This is a joke, right? Nope, Powder Mountain is just such a unicorn. Then why isn’t this place a major destination resort the likes of Whistler and Vail? First, there’s very little in the way of facilities, and practically no lodging at the base. And with just four lifts, it’s hard to rack up much vertical. But that doesn’t detract from the fact that Pow Mow has both the snow and the terrain to make for a stupendous ski vacation. While the liftserved (3,000 acres) is mostly blues and mellower blacks, the snowcat and lift-accessible terrain (over 5,000 acres) is worth the price of admission.
