36th Annual Snowmobile Convention
It’s all about the snow!
It was a weekend of celebration! We may have only celebrated 36 years of hosting an annual snowmobile convention, but the weekend marked something bigger. It was a weekend of looking back and honoring the 40 years Snowmobile North Dakota has been in existence. What an accomplishment and it just goes to show you, when a snowmobiler puts their mind to something, nothing less than success will be accepted.
Friday kicked off with the traditional Board of Directors meeting and a vendor show. The Board of Directors met for a couple hours and discussed the 2015 Legislative Campaign, trail meetings, upcoming annual conventions and the 2015 events. Don’t forget to reach out to Tari at the office to share upcoming events and schedule a snowmobile safety class.
Special thanks to all of the vendors that attended the event. There were plenty of products to check out and a few shopping bags left the show room floor. The evening closed with a social bringing everyone together to have fun, share stories and was filled with plenty of laughter.
Saturday morning kicked off with the annual meeting. Thanks for providing input on the potential trailhead signs the Board of Directors are looking into for the state trail system. We also appreciate everyone that presented on behalf of the North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department, Pisten Bully and Polaris. It’s always nice to hear other companies chat snow!
Congratulations to the three new certified snowmobilers. Wishing you plenty of snow and lots of fun as you ride on the state trail system! The certification classes were filled with new and experienced groomer operators and trail signers. Thanks for continuing your education and please know all of your time and dedication is greatly appreciated.
The event closed with the annual banquet awarding well deserved individuals for their efforts in supporting the state trail system. Outback Autobody even had a 40th Anniversary cake delivered to celebrate Snowmobile North Dakota’s big celebration. Thanks to everyone that supported the silent auction table. Because of you, we were able to donate $2,600 to the Grant & Aid and Scholarship program.
Next year’s convention will be held in Bismarck, December 5th. Hope to see you there and have an excellent winter season!
