Hello fellow snowmobilers! First, I have to say thank you for electing me your vice president again. I do enjoy being a part of SND and get to work with some great people. We have some new faces on the board this year and I am looking forward to working with them.
Our club just had our first meeting of the season. We found out our trail coordinator is stepping down after many years of fantastic service. I think our trail was one of the best signed (I may be a little biased), and it was because he was always willing to go the extra mile to get it done. We will certainly miss you, RT, and appreciate all of your hard work. Thank you, thank you. One is just not enough. If you have someone in your club who seems to take on a lot of the work, please make sure you let them know you appreciate them! We are done combining and are starting to put away the “summer” stuff, dirt bikes, four-wheelers, combines, and moving the “winter” stuff to the front of the shed. Every year we hope for good snow and this year is no different. We’ll take some wet, heavy snow and temps in the 20’s, please. Please take the time to make sure your sleds are licensed, everything works, and your kids’ helmets still fit. I know ours seem to need new everything each winter.
I have to admit I never really went on any of these “organized” rides before I was on the board. I don’t even think I was at a state ride. If you’ve never been, make it a point to go this year. You will meet a lot of great people and see some different scenery. Check out what other clubs are doing on their trails. On that note, the Pink Ribbon Ride is back east this year. We will ride out of Grafton January 10. The organization does a lot of good work for people who really need it. Hope to see you there! Happy trails!
