Her first snowmobile ride was on a 1972 Polaris 250 and has led to 17 years of riding snowmobile. Congratulations to the 2014 Rhoda Greenup Scholarship Fund recipient, JaKayla Smith. JaKayla’s family is a member of the Sno-Busters in Oaks. She helps with the club’s annual demolition derby to raise money for the Sno-Busters and also attends snowmobile runs and even lends her pocket for silent auctions and other fundraisers the club holds. JaKayla will never stop loving the sport of snowmobiling and encourages everyone to support the local snowmobile clubs. Outside of the snowmobile club, she also participates in FFA, FCCLA, National Technical Honor Society, Show Choir and Concert Choir. She knows that along with play time she has to work hard and has been recognized for four years on the academic honor roll. JaKayla has also received star ratings at the state small group music for four years. Wishing you all the success in the future JaKayla and we hope to see you on the snow!
