• The Perkiomen Val­ley Art Cen­ter will spon­sor a pro­gram by Colleen Al­geo, a lo­cal in­de­pen­dent pain­ter and pho­tog­ra­pher, Wed­nes­day, Oct. 17 at 7:30 p.m. at En­core Ex­pe­ri­ences at Har­leysville, 312 Alumni Ave. Ms. Al­geo is the cre­ative di­rec­tor of the Peter Becker Community’s an­nual the­me­based flower show and will dis­cuss how amaz­ing, in­spired gar­den dis­plays can be made quickly on a lim­ited bud­get. • A pro­gram for quilt­ing en­thu­si­asts Penn­syl­va­nia Ger­man Patch­work Pil­low­cases and Other Small Trea­sures will be held Satur­day, Oct. 20 from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The pro­gram will fo­cus on dat­ing, fab­rics and tech­niques of small heir­loom pieced and ap­pliqueed quilts by quilt artist Ann Her­mes. Lower Sal­ford Po­lice Dept. (in con­junc­tion with the United States Marine Corps) will col­lect new, un­wrapped Toys for Tots along the parade route.
