Clarence Reinford

Clarence L. Reinford, of Har­leysville, born March 6, 1925, went to be with the Lord on Satur­day, Oct. 20, 2012.

He was born in Sch­wenksville to the late Nor­man S. and Mary (Lan­des) Reinford and was the hus­band of Marie Detweiler Reinford, mar­ried Jan. 1, 1949.

Clarence was a mem­ber of Prov­i­dence Men­non­ite Church, Col­legeville, for the past num­ber of years. In ear­lier years, he was ac­tive at Up­per Skip­pack Men­non­ite Church where he served as a dea­con, su­per­in­ten­dent and cho­ris­ter.

For over 40 years, he was an ac­tive farmer in the Sch­wenksville area. He con­tin­ued to as­sist two of his sons, who were farm­ers, into his re­tire­ment.

In ad­di­tion to his wife, Marie, he is sur­vived by nine chil­dren, Ken, of Ephrata, Stan­ley (wife Es­ther), of Mt. Holly Springs, Donna Clem­mer (hus­band Glenn), of Har­leysville, Jerry (wife Mary), of Sch­wenksville, Steve (wife Gina), RI 0LIflLQWRwQ, Lee (wife Gail), of Soud­er­ton, Phil (wife Mon­ica), of Telford, Joyce Huns­burger (hus­band Len), of Perkion­menville, and Twila Detweiler (hus­band Greg) of SpearfiVK, 6.D. HH LV VuUvLvHG Ey 34 grand­chil­dren and 33 great-grand­chil­dren. Clarence is also sur­vived by four sib­lings, twin sis­ter Florence Metz (hus­band late Abram), of Soud­er­ton, Mary Ellen Hoover (hus­band Dan), of Sch­wenksville, Ernie (wife Mary), of Soud­er­ton, and Floyd (wife Mary Jane), of Soud­er­ton.

Clarence was pre­ceded in death by four sib­lings, Lester, Nel­son, Martha and Nor­man; and a daugh­ter-in-law, Rachel.

A view­ing will be held on Sun­day, Oct. 28, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Fran­co­nia Men­non­ite Church, 613 Har­leysville Pike, Telford, Pa. The memo­rial ser­vice will fol­low at 6:30 p.m. In­ter­ment will take place Mon­day at 10:30 a.m. at the Well­spring Church of Skip­pack Ceme­tery (for­merly Up­per Skip­pack Men­non­ite), Skip­pack, Pa.

Owen W. Row­land, age 90, a res­i­dent of Towa­mencin Town­ship for the past 53 years, died Oct. 21, 2012, at Abing­ton Hospice at Warmin­ster. He is sur­vived by his lov­ing wife of 64 years, Ruth (Kos­sol) Row­land. The two were mar­ried in 1948 and pre­vi­ously resided in Philadel­phia and Ard­s­ley.

Born Oct. 27, 1921, in Patton, Pa., Owen was a son of the late Richard and Min­nie (Lyle) Row­land and was the youngest of six chil­dren.

In 1942, while serv­ing with the state po­lice, Mr. Row­land en­listed in the U.S. Navy and saw ac­tion aboard the De­stroyer USS Wain­wright in the At­lantic DQG 0HGLWHUUDQHDQ flHHWV. HH re­ceived an honor­able dis­charge in 1946.
