Student crashes, flips car
A wet roadway contributed to the cause of a one-car crash on Lower Road near Schoolhouse Road in Franconia Township Oct. 19.
According to police, an 18-year-old Souderton Area High School student, driving alone in a Chevrolet Impala, was on his way to the high school on Lower Road when he lost control on the wet roadway as he was making a left turn onto Lower from Schoolhouse.
He struck a curb and the car rolled onto its left side, coming to rest on the grass next to the road between a utility pole and a support cable for the pole. The driver was able to get out of the car unassisted, said FrancoQLD SROLFH 2IfiFHU GOHQQ Kranich.
The driver was not injured but was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital by a Harleysville Area Medical Emergency Service ambulance for evaluation.
Responding members of the Perseverence Fire Company of Souderton were able to push the car into an upright position before it was towed.
