Broward to Dade fu­neral pro­ces­sion to com­mem­o­rate Martin Luther King’s life

FT. LAUD­ERDALE, Fla. - April 4, marks fifty years since the as­sas­si­na­tion of Martin Luther King and the Roots Col­lec­tive is part­ner­ing with South Florida lead­ers to com­mem­o­rate his life and legacy, along with all the black lives lost to vi­o­lence with what they’re hop­ing will be the largest fu­neral pro­ces­sion in South Florida his­tory.

In­ter­ested in par­tic­i­pat­ing? Meet up – in your car - at the African-Amer­i­can Re­search Li­brary and Cul­tural Cen­ter (2650 Sistrunk Blvd, Fort Laud­erdale, FL 33311) at 3:00 PM on April 4.

A pro­ces­sion will travel from the li­brary to the Be­la­fonte Ta­colcy Cen­ter at 6161 NW 9th Ave. in Lib­erty City for a spe­cial pro­gram and com­mem­o­ra­tion of King’s life and the lives of our peo­ple.

Fol­low­ing a brief pro­gram, at­ten­dees will be in­vited to join fes­tiv­i­ties at Athalie Range Park (525 NW 62nd St, Mi­ami, FL 33150) for an evening of food, mu­sic and joy. RSVP at­out.
