Mi­ami Dade Col­lege sum­mer camps of­fer some­thing for ev­ery child

MI­AMI - For par­ents look­ing for fun and in­for­ma­tive camp­ing op­tions for their chil­dren, Mi­ami Dade Col­lege’s (MDC) sum­mer camps of­fer youth the op­por­tu­nity to cre­ate an­i­ma­tion, learn CSI tech­niques and about en­trepreneur­ship and more. Open to kids, tweens and teens, the camps will be avail­able at MDC cam­puses.

Stu­dents can par­tic­i­pate in Teen En­trepreneur­ship, Young Ar­chi­tects, Tech­nol­ogy, Kids & Teens Col­lege, as well as the pop­u­lar Wild Things Hap­pen camp, tra­di­tional sum­mer camp where chil­dren par­tic­i­pate in field trips, sports, read­ing, games, and more.

Cam­pers will learn how to eval­u­ate a crime scene and how to col­lect, pack­age, and process ev­i­dence and pro­jec­tile mo­tion, while work­ing with fac­ulty from the School of Jus­tice. Stu­dents will gain knowl­edge about the le­gal sys­tem, in­clud­ing a court­room ex­pe­ri­ence.

STEM Camp: Ro­bot­ics, Cod­ing, and Drones (Ages 14-18) - Free

In­ter­net of Things: Cre­ate Your Own Se­cu­rity De­vice (Ages 12-16) - $250

Stu­dents will de­velop ideas to cre­ate and main­tain elec­tronic se­cu­rity de­vices. The stu­dents will in­vent a Se­cu­rity De­vice us­ing Lit­tle Bits Kit.

A-TEAM: Academy of Teen En­trepreneur­ship and Management (Ages 12-17) - $249

This week-long sum­mer pro­gram in­tro­duces teens to the world of en­trepreneur­ship. Whether you want to launch a com­pany, start a non-profit or just be pre­pared for life af­ter high school, this is the pro­gram for you. This is more than just a fun sum­mer pro­gram. It is a unique ad­di­tion to your re­sume, whether you are ap­ply­ing to col­lege, an in­tern­ship or a job.
