Farm Share food give­away at Lit­tle River Park, July 13

Since 1991, the non­profit Farm Share has been work­ing to al­le­vi­ate hunger and mal­nu­tri­tion by re­cov­er­ing and dis­tribut­ing fresh fruit and veg­eta­bles and other nu­tri­tious food to needy in­di­vid­u­als, soup kitchens, home­less shel­ters, churches and other or­ga­ni­za­tions feed­ing the hun­gry in Florida — free of charge.

The Mi­ami-Dade Parks, Re­cre­ation and Open Spa­ces De­part­ment and the Parks Foun­da­tion of Mi­ami-Dade are part­ner­ing with Farm Share to pro­vide nu­tri­tious food items to res­i­dents in need. Mi­ami-Dade County Com­mis­sioner Jean Mon­es­time, (D2) and lo­cal ra­dio per­son­al­ity Papa Keith, will join them on Fri­day, July 13, from 9 a.m. TO 12 P.M., at a Farm Share food dis­tri­bu­tion event at Lit­tle River Park, 10525 NW 24 Ave., Mi­ami. The event is free and open to the pub­lic. Food will be dis­trib­uted on a first-come, first-served ba­sis, while sup­plies last. For more in­for­ma­tion, call 305-6945121.
