False ID … Martin Palmer, 20, of the 800 block of Bridge Street, Philadelphia, is being sent a summons charging him with false identification to law enforcement following a pedestrian stop Oct. 6, according to Springfield police.
An officer responding to a call from the 8500 block of Ardmore Avenue regarding an aggressive solicitor trying to sell subscriptions to the Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News located Palmer, who identified himself with one name with different dates of birth and had different ID’s on him, police said. It was unknown if he was actually selling subscriptions to the newspapers, police said.
Bike stolen … A pink Hello Kitty child’s bike was reported stolen from the driveway of a home in the 8200 block of Hull Drive, Wyndmoor, at 12:29 p.m. Oct. 13, Springfield police reported.
Criminal mischief … A vehicle parked on the 100 block of Camp Hill Road had its windshield damaged between 3 and 6 p.m. Oct. 15, according to Springfield police.
Theft … A 4-to 5-foot section of copper tubing was reported stolen at 10:18 p.m. Oct. 17 from the ceiling of a basement at a vacant apartment in the 100 block of Lorraine Avenue, Oreland, Springfield police reported.
The theft was discovered at 7 a.m. by a general contractor, police said. There were no signs of forced entry, police said.
Bikes stolen … Three bikes were stolen overnight Oct. 17 from outside a home in the 900 block of Willow Grove Avenue, Wyndmoor, according to Springfield police.
One was later found in the 8100 block of Gladstone Road, police said. The two still missing are a 22-inch Raleigh gray and blue hybrid style bike, valued at $400, and a black and blue Schwinn child’s bike with training wheels, valued at $120, police said.
Theft … A man reported at 4:05 p.m. Oct. 19 that $400 cash was missing from his vehicle after he had it detailed at Clean Machine Car Wash, 471 W. Pennsylvania Ave., Fort Washington, police said. The victim left the car wash and later realized the money was missing, police said. It was not found at the car wash and the investigation was turned over to detectives, police said.
Theft … A bottle of prescription medicine and $50 cash were taken from an unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway of a home in the 1000 block of Windsor Avenue, Dresher, between 9:30 a.m. and 5:36 p.m. Oct. 20, police said.
Charges pending … Charges of driving under the influence are pending against Brian Leibovitz, 39, of the 1500 block of Butler Pike, Ambler, following a hit and run accident around 11 p.m. Oct. 17 in the 1600 block of Twining Road, police said. The operator of a Honda Accord told responding officers that he was driving behind a silver, two-door Chevy Camaro when the male operator put the left-turn signal on, slammed on the brakes and went into reverse, accelerating backward and crashed into the front of his vehicle, disabling it, police said. The Camaro then turned and fled toward Susquehanna Road, police said.
Officers located the striking vehicle around 11:30 p.m. and Leibovitz, who failed a portable breath test, was arrested and taken to Holy Redeemer Hospital for a blood test, police said, and charges are pending the results.
Theft … Several riding toys were stolen from the backyard of a home in the 600 block of Meadowbrook Avenue, Ambler, between 7 p. m. Oct. 17 and 3 p. m. Oct. 18, police said. Items taken included a red Radio Flyer tricycle, a multi- color tricycle, an orange and red Fischer Price wagon and a dark blue, 18- speed Schwinn mountain bike, valued at a total of about $ 120, police said.
Oro- choski, 18, of no known address, is being cited for public drunkenness and retail theft after he was caught with five boxes of Mucinex medicine, valued at $119.95, in his backpack, which were taken from Giant Food Store, 1760 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell, Oct. 15, police said. An officer on patrol observed Orochoski sitting on the curb in front of closed businesses at 2:42 a.m. in the Shoppes at Blue Bell Shopping Center and in speaking with him noted he appeared to be highly intoxicated, police said. He was believed to have consumed several packets of Mucinex and was transported for a drug overdose to Mercy Suburban Hospital, police said.
Public drunkenness … Michael E. Poloczuk, 50, of the 1600 block of Arch Street, Norristown, was cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct Oct. 14 after officers responded to a call at 12: 20 p. m. of a vehicle being operated recklessly in the lot at Giant Food Store, 1760 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell, police said. Poloczuk, who was located parked along the front of the store, appeared confused and showed signs of impairment, police said. After failing field tests, it was determined he was under the influence of a controlled substance and he was cited and also issued a traffic citation for driving with a suspended license, police said, and released to another adult.
