orristown Garden Club members Evelyn Randolph and Marge Eberz, with the “always” help of Evelyn’s husband Hamp Randolph, rototilled and readied the beds in the Courtyard at the Marshall Street School so that the children could enjoy learning how to plant their pumpkin and sunflower seedlings. Then, Evelyn Randolph, chair of this committee, Dottie Macdermott, Barb Schmidt, Trina Bayne and Ruth Silver instructed, “discovered,” weeded, shoveled, tended to “Tippy” the turtle, nurtured an injured bird, found lots of worms, peeked in at a baby bird in its nest and planted many varieties of annuals much to the delight and fun of the children of Ellen Raieta’s class. – Submitted by Ruthmarie Brooks Silver
